Effects of Agricultural Reclamation on Soil Physicochemical Properties in the Mid-Eastern Coastal Area of China

Agricultural reclamation in coastal zones is effective for mitigating population pressure on the food supply. Soil properties are important factors influencing crop production reclaimed lands. This study aims to investigate impacts of time and land use trajectories soil physicochemical after reclamation. We sampled soils areas that were 1999, 1998, 1991, 1989, 1986, 1981, 1979 determined some such as electrical conductivity with a 1:5 soil:water ratio (EC1:5), exchange sodium percentage (ESP), adsorption (SAR), pH, organic matter (OM), total nitrogen (TN), alkaline hydrolyzable (AN), cation capacity (CEC), phosphorus (TP), available (TP) particle size ratio. analyzed their correlation since using one-way analysis variance (ANOVA) principal component (PCA). The results showed changed significantly agricultural EC1:5, ESP, SAR declined rapidly, OM, TN, AN increased rapidly during 29 years was not correlated time. land-use identified had obvious effects properties. Aquaculture ponds superior cultivated terms decreasing salinity but inferior nutrient accumulation. In future, more attention should be given environmental soils.
